CENTER ICE SPORTSPLEX

WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2018, the Center Ice Foundation is a woman-led, all-volunteer 501©3 organization dedicated to expanding access to sports and recreation opportunities. Our mission is to construct a multi-sport health and wellness district that serves traditionally underserved communities. We are committed to providing access and opportunity for everyone to play the sports we serve.
What started as a group of passionate hockey moms seeking a convenient place for their children to play has evolved into a formidable partnership of community members, inspired to leave the world better than we found it.

FAQ'S
WHAT IS YOUR PROJECT
This is the first of its kind in Central Ohio health, wellness, sports & recreation district, providing access to sports facilities in a currently underserved community. In addition to 2 sheets of ice (the first in the region to be adaptive sports-enabled), the project includes an indoor turf field house, and sports entrepreneur incubation space. Adjacent will be a multi-specialty medical office, restaurant & retail, and other ancillary and symbiotic uses.
HOW IS YOUR PROJECT BEING FUNDED?
Projects like ours are economic development & tourism drivers and recreational amenities to support a healthy community. But communities don’t generally support tax levies as a funding mechanism. Our capital stack includes a number of different components: corporate & grassroots philanthropic support via an aggressive capital campaign, unique public funding mechanisms, and traditional commercial lending. Our business plan & pro forma show cashflow positivity as early as year 2.
